Here is some consultants you may need for your project.
You will need a hydraulic engineer if you have any new plumbing fixtures (taps etc.) or waste points. They will design your plumbing services reticulation to ensure they comply with relevant laws legislation, provide advice and coordinate your council plumbing approvals.
You may need an electrical engineer if you have a lot of electrical and/ or data services or equipment. They can check your distribution board has enough capacity and will design your electrical and data services reticulation to ensure they comply.
You will need a mechanical engineer if you have any new air conditioning services to be installed or modified. A mechanical engineer will also design and specify the exhaust canopy over cooking equipment if required to ensure it complies with relevant legislation.
You may need a lighting designer if you have a lot of specialist lighting requirements or require automation of lighting control. They can check your lighting levels are sufficient for your expected tasks, specify the right product for the right result and model the chosen lighting design to ensure it complies with relevant legislation.
You may need an audio/visual (AV) consultant if you have a lot of specialist audio and/or visual display requirements, require automation of AV systems, or just want to create a spectacular feature of AV in your design. They can specify the right product for the right result and provide advice.
You may need an acoustic engineer if you have a lot of specialist audio requirements or are concerned about noise in your design. They can check your acoustic levels are sufficient for your expected tasks, specify the right product for the right result and model the chosen acoustic design to ensure it suits your requirements.
You will need a structural engineer if you have any new overhead structures in your design or want to make modifications to existing structures. They will design structural supports to ensure they comply with relevant legislation, provide advice and liaise with your builder.
You will need a building Certifier once your drawings are completed to ensure they comply with relevant legislation and are submitted to council. They will provide building approval so your builder can start work on site and will review on-site construction to ensure what is built is inline with documentation. Their final approval is a Certificate of Classification which is what you will need to take possession of your site and start trading.
You will need a Heritage Consultant if your site has any specific Heritage criteria that needs to be met as part of the overall building design or if you wish to make any changes to existing heritage building fabric or use. Check before you sign a lease to see if the building or site requires anything specific regarding this.
